Sad Sad Sad

Hi all.  not sure if this is the right section to post sales, but here you go...

Our beloved Toyota Hiace Camper... This Van was built and factory converted into camper in Japan in 1994/95 and arrived in the UK in 2005. We have owned her since August 2007. We have toured the UK, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium and The Netherlands in this vehicle and it's comfort and rock solid reliability have been second to none. It will be heart-breaking to see her leave, but leave she must. It's the usual story... Expanding family, house purchase, etc etc...

This is a well looked after example of a very reliable and practical campervan which is good for many, many more adventures, It's ready to hit the road to wherever! A major plus point is that this vehicle is exempt from the Low Emissions zone! Essential if you live in London.

Engine: 2800cc naturally aspirated 4 cylinder diesel engine with a 3 speed automatic gearbox with Overdrive. This engine is the "3L" model and is from the same family as the one the Top Gear guys tried (and failed!) to destroy. I have never had any problems with this vehicle in the 7 years I've had her, a true workhorse of an engine. I have just had the MOT done and it sailed through with no advisories at all. Starts 1st time every time, even in -10C weather! Will cruise at 60-70MPH all day long. MPG is around 25-30 when driven sensibly. I have all of the service history during my 7 years of ownership as well as some from the previous owner. I have had the major services done at JEM in North London, They specialise in Japanese imports. This engine requires an oil change every 5000 kilometres which I have mostly done myself and I have a log with mileage and work completed including the part numbers of the filters and oil used, which I can share. Current mileage is 131200 Kilometers which is 81523 Miles. The van is in use so the mileage may increase very slightly. LEZ EXEMPT! 12 Months MOT!

Exhaust: I had a custom built PowerFlow exhaust fitted back in 2010 as the original pipe needed replacing and I decided on a stainless steel one. I also has some work done on the exhaust last year to re-route it due to the towbar bracket being in the way slightly. all receipts available

Wheels: I fitted brand new 7 spoke load rated Borbet alloys with Continental all weather tyres in 2011. There is around good tread all round. The alloys are in great condition and really make the van look good

Body: I had the whole van resprayed in 2010. It was white originally and I decided to keep it that colour as it's nice and cool to be in when you're touring round in the Summer months. I had the front and rear bumpers colour matched and some detailing done to bring it right up to date. I have also just had the whole van professionally polished and it looks just as good as it did right after the first respray.

Lights: I imported the projector style headlight clusters and the tail light clusters with clear indicator lenses from Japan in 2010. They bring the look of the van right up to date but are not over the top. The original headlight and tail light clusters are included in the sale so you can go back to them if you wish.

Towbar: I fitted a towbar to the Van in order to carry a rear mounted bike carrier and backup box for extra storage while on tour, both of which are included in this sale.

Interior: The interior is as it came from the factory and is in decent condition considering it's age and very comfortable to be in. There are a couple of tears on the drivers and passengers front seats which I was going to get repaired but I ran out of time. I fitted a 3 point seatbelt in the rear when our first boy was born so that we could fit his baby seat in safely. The van has seating for 5 in the rear and sleeping space for 4 adults. The van air conditioning (Just been fully serviced - receipts available) and a blown air heater in the rear. It has an Electrolux 3 way fridge in the back as well as a sink with pumped water and lots of storage cupboards. It does not have a built in cooker but a portable one is included in the sale.

Sound System: Sony headunit with CD, USB, iPod and Aux inputs. It also has a remote control so that you can chillout in the back and control your tunes. Infinity BassLink II 10" Active and 10" passive SubWoofer including the optional 4 Channel amplifier providing 35 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms, 50 watts x 4 at 2 ohms. Two Infinity Kappa speakers in the dashboard and two larger Infinity Kappa speakers in the back. The system is plenty loud enough but you can remotely control the bass level from the drivers seat too so you don't always have to have it pumping. The sub and amp are hidden under one of the rear seats and the speakers are in the same location as the factory fitted ones were. I wanted a decent sound system but also wanted it well hidden.

Alarm - I fitted a Cobra alarm with remote central locking in 2010. All paperwork is included.

Equipment included
- Omnistor 5000 3 meter wind out awning

- StopLock safe

- 20 Meter UK hook-up extension and European extension lead

- Thule EasyBase 949 towbar mounted carrier with 948-2 option to carry 2 bikes

- Thule Backup 900 Robust luggage box. The backup box mounts onto the EasyBase and adds 420 litres of easily accessed, extra loading space.

- Khyam Motordome Sleeper Tent and ground sheet: a spacious driveaway awning complete with 4-berth inner tent. Tried and tested - the Motordome Sleeper is firm favourite amongst the Campervan community. The footprint of the Sleeper is 4.75m x 3.0m with a connection tunnel of 125cm x 300cm, giving a total footprint of 4.75m x 4.25m. The unique Rapidex®️ Quick Erect Pole system offers unrivalled simplicity of pitching against other driveaway awnings and unlike other driveaway awnings the Motordome™️ Sleeper packs down to just over 100 cm and weighs just 20kg - including the inner tent and every peg!

Note that the tent was purchased in 2008, it is used but still fully waterproof and in good condition overall.

The bad bits: Please remember this is a 20 year old vehicle and has wear and tear consistent with normal use. There are a few scratches on the fridge and cupboards, the catch on the drawer needs replacing and as mentioned there is a tear in both the drivers and the passengers seat up front. The fridge works on electricity but not gas at the moment. This is probably down to a clogged jet which is repairable.

Please contact me for loads of pictures and information.

Hi Guys.

I've dropped the price and I'm listening to offers. I'd love to see her go to an enthusiast so please let me know if you are interested.

Cheers
