| Does anyone know where to find the weight plate on a Super Custom camper? I have looked around the door pillars and engine compartment, but can't find one. I want to know if I would be able to pull a horse box legally. I have had the camper on a weigh bridge and it is 2480Kg. The vehicle is a 1993 3L Super Custom camper (Composer) with automatic gearbox and the trailer is a Ifor Williams HB 505 with a unladen weight of 905Kg and a max gross weight of 2340Kg. Has anyone else towed a horse box and if so how did you get on, was there enough power to get up the hills? Bobby Dazzler | |

| Had a good look around, but there doesn't appear to be one. I was only concerned that if I was pulled over while towing, it may cause problems if a plate can't be found. I have spoken to the MOT tester who tested the vehicle and he said it wasn't required for campers. I would question this as my own mechanic says you need the weight of the vehicle to be able to work out the braking force when carrying out the MOT. Would be interested to hear if any one has been pulled up over this (is it a legal requirement?). Admin, did you pass your MOT okjavascript:emoticonp' ' | |

| Of course it matters If this wasn't the case, i'd have brought far more wine home with me without worrying of being overweight The camper/motorhome industry has got to be at the moment, the most scrutinised motor industrys coming second to the lorry. I see so many customers whom have purchased motorhomes and payload has been the biggest problems, especially when going abroad (and the reduction of their licences due to age). I was 50 miles south of Lyon when hitting a toll road and was pulled for a vehicle check, to which everything was looked at, we were then escorted to the weighbridge and whilst there we saw a couple having to leave items they had due to being overweight. They had to make arrangements to get ridas they would have been done for littering Mind you, they were fairly loaded up as they were touring Europe and seemed to have the house with them. | |

| Yes thanks passed the MOT With only a note to say there was a slight exhaust blow..
The inspector did ask the weight of "Bessie" because it made a difference to the rolling road / brake test. He was fair when because we couldnt find the weight (which wasnt on the previous MOT either) and he guessed 1800kg the same he said as a small transit and I thought i had read 1780kg. | |

| Guys I am really confused Have been round Dad's whilst on his terminal and went out to look at his 1993 and the plate is under the passenger seat with the LH silver plate It's in the same place as what my old van's plate is. Weird V.I.N no is stamped on the o/s but there's a plate under the passenger front seat which shows all the vin no's, gearbox, build codes but has the weights. | |
