Turbo Lught not coming on 2.4

have just purchased a 2.4 super custom however when i drive it the turbo light never comes on does this mean the bulb is fused or is the turbo not working. the van drives spot on and picks up really well, i know they usually whistle when tubo kicks in but i'm not sure if i can hear this?
any had same prob??
