| My alternator has stopped charging and I'm looking for a replacement or overhaul kit.
The numbers on the sticker are 040-54350 but I can't find any info on the web.
There's also a large 27 on the end of the sticker - does anyone know what the 27 denotes? it's similar to this one here with 16 on it..............

| Don't know but if you go to www.toyodiy.com and put your vin number in you will get the Toyota part number for you.
I know a good check on the Townace was the shape of the multi plug. | |

| I think the part number could be -
27060-54040 or 27060-54120 both are for a LH129 produced 89 08 - 93 08
If that is not the correct year range pm me your vin mumber and I'll check again.
The number will be on the alt on a silver sticker but they come off!
The other number is likely to be the Denso model number | |

| Ok, had a better look at the faded label tonight - looks like: 100217-1920 27040-54350 VIN - LH129 1001403 Checked the diode pack tonight too - diodes blown and rotor open circuit  AussieQ - its an aftermarket turbo fitted in Japan - simple non water cooled one - PM me if you want pics | |

| Looks like I'm getting somewhere - the numbers do compute with an alternator remanufacturer but it seems the 2.4 Hiace has a similar alternator at 70a rating not the 80A of mine. And its easier to get hold of  - Suppose the dual a/c might need a higher output but only if EVERYTHNG else is switched on at the same time.  | |
