| You don't mean Kg/cm2 do you? That would be 35.6 psi and that sounds about right to me. I've always stuck to about 35psi unless stated otherwise on the tyre... http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/pressure-units-converter-d_569.html | |

| I think the pressure needs to be high...especially for those running low profile tyres. I've just bought 17" rims with 235/45's on them and the mag specialists who fitted them have put 44psi into them! My previous experience with running lower pressures in this type of tyre resulted in the front outer edges wearing very quickly! | |

| I think that the reccomended Toyota pressure that is marked on the vehicle will be for the tyres fitted as standard to a new van by Toyota when new. The pressures marked on the tyre sidewall will be the maximum permitted pressure for that tyre. Look on the internet for a conversion from Kgs/sq cms or BAR to Pounds per square inch. One bar is 14.7 lbs per square inch. If the van is heavily loaded, pump up the tyres, increase the pressure more at the rear than the front. If you drive fast, pump up all the tyres. Under inflation is worse than over inflation, but keep between those reccomended pressures. | |

| Is anyone running off-road tires on their HiAce? I added Goodyear Wrangler Trail Runner AT 235/75/R15 to my 1995 Super Custom 4WD. I've been going with 32 PSI and am thinking to raise it to 40-45 psi, but 50+ seems too high. Thoughts? | |

| I'v always had standard (for my particular van) sized tyres at 215/70-15. The Toyo or Yokahama AT tyres I have always run near max pressure at 45psi. I used to joke that each u-turn on holiday cost at least $1. As you see unless someone has exactly the same tyres on an AWD van all the answers will be different. I'd look at the max pressure on the tyre, drop it by something like 5psi and watch the wear on the rears for eveness. I have found on my AWD that I can avoid wearing out the outside of the front tyres on tight turns by going slowly and keeping (where possible) slight throttle on. I also rotate tyres front to rear and side to side occasionally to even the wear out. Good luck! | |

| @CustardCrazy Raised the tire pressures to 45psi all around. We have a 2+ hour drive tonight and back home tomorrow. I'll see how it does with 45psi. | |

| As others have said, the specifications on the sticker are for factory installed tires and rims. I think most people have some version of larger/ different proportioned tires. I think mine are 40 psi all around, as per the tire shop that installed them | |

I also run 3 bar in each tyre, they are quite wide and low profile. A little lower on the front adds comfort, but I'd not like to go too low as there's not much sidewall height!

I marked the thread of all four tires with white chalk two times to see what areas of the tires are contacting the road surface and what areas are not. I drove about 300 miles over three days and 45psi seems about perfect for my HiAce and tire setup: Goodyear Wrangler Trail Runner AT 235/75/R15. | |
